The timer will disappear once the player antes up or posts the blind. If the player doesn't pay the ante or post the blind, that player will not participate in the hand.

If a player is still in the buy-in phase while the ante or blinds phase is underway, a countdown timer will be displayed even though that player isn't participating in the current game.

During cash game play players have a prescribed time to act. This time is indicated with a countdown timer at their chair position. If the player fails to act in time, the hand they are in will be folded. The player will also sit out until they re-join the table.

  • How do I tell how much money is in the pot?

The amount of money in the pot (and side pots) is clearly stated on the game table.

  • How do I find out what the table limit is?

The table limits are clearly displayed on the game table.

You can choose to play with a four-colour deck instead of the two-colour deck. You find the selection for that on the SETTINGS tab, and when selected, all new tables you open will use the four-coloured deck.

  • Can I play at multiple tables?

You can play at multiple tables at the same time and each started table is presented in its own window. Buttons in the lobby and at each table (standard view only) allow you to navigate between the first five opened tables, and required actions are indicated in the table display in the lobby and at the tables.

  • Can I change seats during play?

It is not possible in a tournament to request a seat change.

In cash game play, once seated, players can change the appearance of the position of their chair. Using the "Chair" icon in the bottom right corner of the poker room allows the player to sit in a different location. This DOES NOT change the position of the player relative to the button; it merely changes the graphical representation of the player at the table.

If the chair icon does not appear in the poker room, this function is not available.

  • Can I keep notes on other players?

You can keep notes on your opponents and read the notes whenever you are logged in. To make a note on another player, click on the player's avatar. Type your text and click OK. Once a note is entered, an icon will appear by their name. No one else can see your notes and they are stored locally on your computer.

  • How do I chat with other players?

You may participate in the table chat. To chat at the table, enter the message in the textbox and click SEND or just hit Enter on your keyboard.

It is possible to choose between four levels of chat content to be displayed at the table. To change the content being displayed, click the MENU button and then SETTINGS. Here, you will be able to select from the following four options:

    • Summary (default) - player chat and dealer chat.
    • All - player actions, player chat, and dealer chat.
    • No chat - player actions and dealer chat.
    • Chat only - player chat.

You can request a history of your hand by selecting the "request hand history" option from the Live Help tab right at the table! The history information is stored locally on your computer and is presented in a separate web browser window.

Extensive game statistics are accumulated for each game you play. Click the MENU button and then STATISTICS at the game table to open the game statistics tab. You can reset the data by clicking RESET.

  • How do I exit a game?

When you decide you wish to leave the table, just click on the MENU button and then the LEAVE TABLE button. If a hand in which you are playing is currently in progress, it is suggested you click "Sit out" to allow you to leave the table when the hand is complete. Of course, if you fold your hand, you may leave the game at that time as well. If you'd like to rejoin the table you exited from at a later time, you will be required to bring to the table, at minimum, the amount of money you left with. For example, if you choose to leave a $25/$50 table with $500 and you'd like to return to the table at a later time, you must buy-in for at least $500 when rejoining.

  • What does Auto Spin do?

For player convenience, an Auto Spin button is provided on most slot machines and some games on our Games Tab. This button when pressed will automatically spin the reels for you in sequence. Wins will be shown and credited to your account before the next spin. As our games evolve, there are some different Auto Spin functionalities you should be aware of.

Spin Amounts – Some of our games provide the player with the opportunity to specify exactly how many spins the Auto Spin should engage for. Other games give the player the option of spinning for 5, 10, or 25 spins.

Spin Countdown – On the games where the player can specify the exact number of spins, the meter will countdown from that number until it gets to 1. After that spin, the player will have to re-select Auto Spin or choose another action.

On the games listed below, no Auto Spin countdown will be displayed to the player during play. It is important to remember that you can stop the Auto Spin at any time, either by closing the game or pressing the "Stop" button (which is normally the "Spin" button, but changes to "Stop" when Auto Spin is engaged). Auto Spin does not obligate you to any spin that you do not want to make. Auto Spin will also stop automatically if you do not have enough funds in your account to place the bet. Here are the games where there is no countdown display for Auto Spins:

  • How do the progressive jackpots work?

PlayNow.com offers several Progressive Jackpots whose total is dependent on player wagering activity. PlayNow.com endeavours to show accurate Progressive Jackpot meters on each respective game, however, imperfections in the internet may hinder the accuracy of the meter display. The exact amount of each Progressive Jackpot is recorded by the BCLC computer system at the time of your wager. In the event of any dispute or discrepancy regarding any aspect of your purchase and/or play decisions, THE INFORMATION IN THE COMPUTER SYSTEMS WILL PREVAIL, AND ONLY THE PURCHASE AND/OR PLAY DECISION RECORDED BY THE COMPUTER SYSTEMS WILL PARTICIPATE IN THE GAME.

In the event that a progressive jackpot is discontinued, the funds from that jackpot will be added to a similar game of BCLC's choice. The funds are defined as the amount contributed by players, or the amount contributed by BCLC based on wagers made by players, MINUS the seed amount of the progressive jackpot. The seed amount can be found in the game specific "More Information" pages.

BCLC may occasionally add funds to the progressive jackpots.

If you are playing a PlayNow.com game and a decision is required from you to proceed (like hit or stand in blackjack), the game will wait for you to make that decision even if you have to close the game client or perform other actions. Funds wagered will remain in this state until such time that you complete that game or your account becomes inactive. If your Account becomes inactive, any wagered funds from incomplete games will be void.

  • What happens if my computer goes down or freezes during playing?

After placing your bet, if your play is terminated in any way, the result of your play will still stand. When you return to that game you will be prompted to complete the game you were playing. You need to do this before you will be able to play that game again.

  • How does the 'Cash Spent' balance work?

The Cash Spent balance tracks the amount of money that you have wagered on PlayNow during your current session/login. The balance will update as you play games. For games with a gamble (double-up) feature, the balance will wait until you start your next game before updating, just in case you wish to gamble your winnings.

  • Why the enhancements to PlayNow Sports?

We've updated sports betting on PlayNow.com to reflect industry standards and player demand, featuring an increased variety of sports, leagues, tournaments and events, and new ways to bet.

  • Does the new PlayNow Sports replace Sports Action?

There is no change to Sports Action's current sports games; it's just that they are no longer available on PlayNow.com in order to offer the new sportsbook. Sports Action is still available for purchase at all lottery retailers. Sports Action menus and odds are still available for viewing online at bclc.com.

  • I used to play Sports Action Oddset on PlayNow. Can I find Oddset on the new PlayNow Sports?

While it won't be called 'Oddset', many sporting events will still offer a bet (like Oddset) where you can choose either the Home team to Win, the Visitor team to Win or the Tie. Often these bets are referred to as 'Win-Draw-Win' or 'Match Result'. Keep in mind, with these types of bets the SPORTS ACTION TIE RULES DO NOT APPLY. If teams are tied in points (or goals) at the end of regulation time (or the time of the game as specified in the terms of the bet offered) then it's a TIE. Simple.

In some sports or events, Win-Draw-Win bets may not be available - however you can still usually always bet on the winning Team or Player – it's just that the Tie option is not available.

  • I used to play Sports Action Point Spread online. Can I find Point Spread on the new PlayNow Sports?

Of course you can! Spread betting is available on most events offered on PlayNow Sports. Spread bets are found under the names 'Point Spread', 'Spread' or 'Handicap' depending on the sport or event.

  • I used to play Sports Action Over/Under online. Can I find Over/Under on the new PlayNow Sports?

We couldn't call ourselves a sportsbook if we didn't offer betting on the Total amount of Goals/Points/Runs scored in the game or match! Not only do we have Over/Under bets on end of Game totals, now you can bet on various Totals throughout the game on periods/quarters/half-time/innings etc. Check your favourite events to see what's available.

  • So you have all the types of bets that I am used to with Sports Action, but what is different?

The new PlayNow Sports really is a 'game-changer'. Besides the new look, the sportsbook now offers more sports, more leagues, tournaments and more types of bets than ever before. New parlay options, single bets, Futures and Outrights, Money Back Specials, immediate settlement and payment on winning bets and betting on LIVE games while they're in-play are some of the most significant enhancements. Along with all of the new offers, also come new betting rules and conditions (different than Sports Action). Be sure to familiarize yourself with the betting rules for the sports you bet on - as whether your bets win or lose your bets will be determined accordingly.

  • Why can't I parlay two bets from the same game?

While you now have the ability to parlay a Money Line (Match Result) bet with a Point Totals bet - you aren't able to do it if the bets are from the same event or game. Any bets that are deemed directly 'correlated' will not be permitted as a parlay.

  • Why aren't all bets offered as singles?

Unfortunately due to current Canadian law, we are still unable to offer single event betting. If the law changes (as currently is proposed with Private Member Bill C-290) we will make betting on single-events available. Details and the current status of Bill C-290 can be found here.

PlayNow however, does offer some 'single' bets in as much as those bets are comprised of 'Embedded Parlay(s)' and a wager can be placed without combining another offer. For example, a 'Correct Score' bet can be offered as a 'single', as it requires the prediction of BOTH the correct score of each team (or player) in order to successfully win the bet. All bets designated as 'singles' are highlighted throughout the site with "single" icon next to the offer.

  • Why aren't you offering bets on MMA, Boxing, Cycling or Motor Racing?

Unfortunately due to current Canadian law, we are still unable to offer bets on Fighting or Racing. If the law changes (as currently is proposed with Private Member Bill C-290) we will certainly consider offering bets on these sports.

  • How do I interpret the odds - and why are there different available formats for the odds?

PlayNow gives you the option to view the odds in 3 different formats. Below is brief description of the 3 different formats:

    Decimal
With Decimal odds, multiply the value of the odds with your wager to determine your potential win. The outcome with the lowest odds is projected as the most likely outcome (or 'favourite') and vice-versa the outcome with the highest odds being the least likely to occur (also known as the 'dog').
Example: With decimal odds of 2.50 and wager amount of $10, this bet would potentially return $25.

For a parlay bet, the total odds of a bet are determined by multiplying the value of all the odds and then multiplying by the amount bet.
Example: With decimal odds of 2.50 and 4.00 and wager amount of $10, this bet would potentially return $100.

    American
American odds (also sometimes referred to as "Money Line" odds) reveal the amount you must wager or can win on any selection based on a $100 increment. The favoured outcome is always displayed as a negative number.
Example: If the odds offered on a particular outcome are -110, it means that in order to 'win' $100 you would need to bet $110. If the odds are +110, it means that if you wagered $100, you would win $110. In this example you would calculate your payout by also adding your initial stake (wager).

    Fractional
With Fractional odds, the numerator represents the amount to win from the wager amount shown in denominator. Example: Odds of 1/3 mean that bettor would win $1 for each $3 staked (thus equal to 1.33 in decimal format), and 2/1 mean that bettor wins $2 for each unit staked (thus equal 3.00 in decimal format). So, with a stake of $100, potential win on first bet is $133.33, and on the second bet, potential win is $300.

To change the odds format, use the odds format selector found near the bottom of the left navigation bar and select your preferred format from the drop down menu.

The Freebet earned will always be outlined in the terms and conditions of the promotion or offer. What you can use your Freebet on is outlined in 'Token Balance' in My Account.

  • What is a Multi-Draw?

Multi-Draw gives you two options to schedule the purchase of a Lotto ticket on PlayNow.com. You can specify from 2 - 104 consecutive draws or choose Never Miss a Draw.

  • How does Never Miss a Draw work?

If you use Never Miss a Draw you do not need to specify the number of consecutive draws. Your numbers will be entered into all upcoming consecutive draws as long as your Account contains sufficient cash and/or Tokens or until you cancel it.

  • In a Quick Pick Multi-Draw ticket, are Lotto numbers randomly generated for each draw?

No, if your Multi-Draw is a Quick Pick the original randomly generated numbers from the first ticket of the Multi-Draw will be used for all subsequent draws in the Multi-Draw. The numbers will not be randomly re-generated for each draw.

  • If I add the EXTRA on my Multi-Draw ticket, are the EXTRA numbers randomly generated for each draw?

If you say YES to the Extra and are playing a Multi-Draw (i.e. more than one draw), the Extra numbers will be different and randomly re-generated for each draw.

  • What happens if my account runs out of funds and I have a multi-draw?

If before any upcoming draw your account doesn't contain sufficient funds to cover the cost of that ticket, the ticket will not be issued and the entire associated Multi-Draw will be cancelled. You must add sufficient funds to your account and then select a new Multi-Draw. To avoid having your Multi-Draws cancelled, please ensure that your account contains sufficient funds.

    *A sales day on PlayNow.com runs from approximately 6 a.m. to 4:08 a.m.

  • Can I cancel my Lotto ticket?

No, lottery tickets purchased on PlayNow.com cannot be cancelled.

  • How are lottery numbers drawn?

BCLC has stringent physical and procedural security in place to ensure the integrity of all draws.

Draws may be conducted by any method established by BCLC. The most common is through computerized draw technology, such as an Automated Draw Machine (ADM).

More details are available in this brochure, How Are Lottery Numbers Drawn?.

  • When are Lotto 6/49 and LOTTO MAX winning numbers posted to this website?

Lotto 6/49 and LOTTO MAX (and associated BC/49 and Extra) winning numbers appear on PlayNow.com and bclc.com as early as 7 p.m. In some instances, numbers may take longer to post.

Lotto 6/49 and LOTTO MAX sales are cut off at 6 p.m. Pacific time on draw days.

  • Why can't players choose all three sets of numbers?

The majority of sales for other lottery brands are quick picks, and consumer research indicates that most people would have one set of numbers they would want to pick, but not three.

  • Will the jackpot ever get bigger than $50 million?

Once the main jackpot reaches $50 million, LOTTO MAX kicks into MAXMILLIONS™ mode – additional prizes of $1 million each.

  • How do the MAXMILLIONS™ draws work?

Once the jackpot reaches $50 million, additional jackpot funding will then be directed into additional prizes of $1 million each called MAXMILLIONS™. A separate draw will be held for each additional $1 million prize being offered. Example: $58 million jackpot = One $50 million jackpot + Eight $1 million MAXMILLIONS™.

  • What happens if the $50 million jackpot is won and some of the MAXMILLIONS™ are not?

Any $1 million MAXMILLIONS™ prizes that are not won will be applied to the next week's base jackpot. So, for example, if four $1 million prizes are not won and the $50 million is won, then the jackpot for the following draw would be $14 million. ($10 million base, plus $4 million).

  • What happens if more than one ticket wins on a MAXMILLIONS™ draw? Is each ticket worth $1 million or a share of $1 million?

As with the main jackpot, each MAXMILLIONS™ prize of $1 million will be equally shared among the winning tickets for that prize.

  • How many additional prizes of $1 million will be available with the MAXMILLIONS™ draws?

The number of additional MAXMILLIONS™ prizes of $1 million will be determined by the level of sales for the draw.

  • Why does LOTTO MAX cost $5 to play when Lotto 6/49 is $3 to play?

With its great prizes, $10 million base jackpot and the unique MAXMILLIONS™ draws, LOTTO MAX is great value, with players receiving three chances (seven numbers each) for a $5 play.

  • Lotto 6/49

Why does it seem like so many Lotto 6/49 jackpot winners are from Ontario and Quebec?

When looking at jackpot winners in the short term, statistical anomalies may occur. A longer term view of jackpot winners provides a more accurate picture.

Since BCLC was incorporated in 1985, until the end of fiscal year 2007/08, Ontario and Quebec players have won or shared 67.24 per cent of Lotto 6/49 jackpots. This figure is roughly equivalent to the 66.70 per cent of tickets bought there during this time. Over the same time period, B.C. players won or shared 12.83 per cent of the jackpots and purchased 12.75 per cent of the tickets sold.

Every six-number selection sold for each Lotto 6/49 draw has a 1 in 13,983,816 chance of winning the jackpot, regardless of where the ticket was purchased.

  • BC/49

Why doesn't the BC/49 jackpot roll if it isn't won?

The grand prize on BC/49 is set at $2 million.

BC/49 has a smaller player base than the national Lotto 6/49 game and was designed to accumulate funds in its prize pool so that money is available to pay the grand prize when it's won.

Average sales per draw for BC/49 are under $2 million. The only way BCLC can offer a game with a $2 million grand prize for B.C. only is if the game has a jackpot that does not roll to a higher amount.

  • What percentage of sales goes into the Bad Beat and when does it start to grow from its base amount?

  • What if no one Beats the Table?

The best 5 card hand of all the ticket holders will win. Any ticket holder with that winning hand wins a share of the jackpot for every $2 they have bet on their ticket.

  • How does eBingo work?

eBingo games are played on the PlayNow.com site. The games are very similar to regular bingo in that players win a prize if they match the right patterns on their bingo cards. • What is the difference between Single Player and Multi-Player games?

With Multi-Player games, you play with other PlayNow.com members. Every player has their own card(s), and anyone can get a Bingo. If there is more than one winner, the prize is divided equally among the cards purchased.

With Single Player games, you're the only one in the game. Games are played on demand, so play when ever you choose.

  • How many players are needed for a Multi-Player game?

A minimum of two players is required for a Multi-Player draw to be played. If you have purchased card(s) in a draw and there are less than two players, the game will be cancelled and your purchase will be refunded to your PlayNow.com Account.

  • Do I need to dab my own cards?

No, you can choose to turn the Autodab feature ON so that the computer takes care of the dabbing for you automatically on your screen. Alternatively, you can turn the Autodab feature OFF and dab the cards yourself. Regardless of which setting you choose, BCLC's PlayNow.com system will know whether or not your card is a winner, so if you miss dabbing a number it won't affect the outcome of the game.

  • Do I need to call "Bingo" if I win?

No, BCLC's PlayNow.com system will know whether your card has a Bingo and will award the prize accordingly.

  • How does the progressive jackpot work?

Each of the three Multi-Player games has a progressive jackpot in which a percentage of all sales are added to the jackpot. The jackpot is won or shared by the first player(s) to get blackout within the specified number of ball calls.

Until the progressive jackpot pool reaches the guaranteed minimum amount, the guaranteed minimum amount is displayed and is awarded if won. Once the progressive jackpot pool exceeds the minimum amount, it continues to grow until it is won.

In the event that a Multi-Player game or jackpot is discontinued, the funds from that jackpot will be added to BCLC's unclaimed prize fund. This fund grows with unclaimed prizes from all lottery games we offer and is used to fund special or bonus lottery prizes. In this way, the money always goes back to players.

BCLC may occasionally add funds to the progressive jackpots.

  • What happens if my computer goes down or freezes or I lose my internet connection during a game?

Computer or internet connection problems will not affect the game outcome. After you purchase your game, if your play is terminated in any way, the result of your play will still stand.

For Single Player games, if you return to the game where you have an incomplete ticket, you will see your game play out. If you go to your Active Tickets list in your PlayNow.com player profile you can choose to either complete the game without watching it or replay the game and watch it play out. If you return to the game the next day, the game will have been completed for you by BCLC's PlayNow.com system.

For Multi-Player games, if you return to the game before the draw is over you can view the remainder of the draw. If you return to the game and the draw is over you can view the results in your Past Tickets list in your PlayNow.com player profile.

  • Can I cancel my eBingo card purchase?

No, once a player confirms an eBingo purchase it cannot be cancelled.

  • What is eBingo chat?

One of the fun aspects of Multi-Player eBingo games is the interactive chat function. Chat is meant to add fun and entertainment to the games.

  • What is an alias?

An alias is a name that players choose to represent themselves in eBingo. Your alias may be from 6 to 10 characters long and may only include letters and numbers. Your alias will be shown in the chat window when you are in an eBingo game. If you win a prize, your alias and prize amount will be displayed for other players to view. To play eBingo Multi-Player games or to chat with other players, you need to create an alias.

  • How do I change my alias?

To change your alias call Customer Support at 1-877-706-6789 or email us.

  • What are Chat Hosts? What do they do?

Chat Hosts are present in the eBingo chat rooms to answer questions and make sure everyone is having a good time. Chat Hosts also respond to any issues that occur during chat such as offensive behaviour.

For information regarding inappropriate behaviour see BCLC's Terms of Use and Chat Etiquette.

  • If I experience inappropriate behaviour in the chat room what should I do?

If you have any concerns regarding another player's chat room behaviour, please complete the Report Chat Violations form and provide the following information:

    • Offending player's alias
    • Date and time of game
    • eBingo game name and draw #
    • Detailed description of offensive chat
  • Can anyone use eBingo web chat?

No, web chat is a feature of eBingo and is limited to use by PlayNow.com members.

  • Do you have to purchase eBingo cards to use web chat?

No, you can chat without purchasing cards.

  • Why do I keep getting error codes when I play eBingo?

The 3075 error indicates a slow internet connection. If you are connected wirelessly to the Internet, please try a direct connection to resolve the error. Otherwise, refresh your page – you may also want to review the minimum system requirements for PlayNow.com.

Do you have multiple browsers open? You may find that closing all other browsers and pausing any downloads will improve your experience.

Are you operating any add-ons such as pop-up blockers or script disablers? These tools can cause viewing and interaction problems, but it is at your discretion to disable them. Have you cleared your temporary internet files/cookies recently? A build-up of these files can affect the performance of the page.

Are you streaming any audio/video from other websites or programs (such as Youtube or iTunes)? You may find that closing these sites or programs will improve your experience.

  • Voluntary Self-Exclusion

What is the Voluntary Self-Exclusion Program?

The program enables you to voluntarily exclude yourself from accessing PlayNow.com, for a pre-determined amount of time. Research has shown that when Voluntary Self-Exclusion is combined with treatment, it can be one of the most effective means to stop gambling.

  • How do I enroll in the PlayNow.com Voluntary Self-Exclusion Program?

You can enroll in the program directly on PlayNow.com.

    1. Log in to PlayNow.com
    2. In the "My Accounts" section, go to Self-Exclusion.
    3. Follow the instructions and complete the four-step process.

Once you have enrolled in the Voluntary Self-Exclusion Program, you will not be able to revoke your enrollment.

  • What happens if I voluntarily self-exclude?

Self-exclusion starts the moment you sign up and lasts for the period of time chosen by you. Voluntary Self-Exclusion can't be revoked. It ends when the agreed upon exclusion period ends.

BCLC will cancel your Player Account and pay out any unredeemed cash in your PlayNow.com account once you have completed the online form.

  • How long will I be self-excluded?

The length of the exclusion is up to you. Choose from:

    • 6 months
    • 1 year
    • 2 years
    • 3 years
  • Can I exclude a spouse or family member?

It's understandable to want to help a loved one who is in trouble. However, only the person seeking exclusion can sign up. No one can do it for them.

  • How can I revoke my VSE contract?

The intent of the Voluntary Self-Exclusion program is to eliminate temptation by prohibiting you from entering an environment where you may be inclined to engage in an activity you have personally identified as a problem. Enrolling in the Voluntary Self-Exclusion is a commitment you make to yourself and it is a commitment that we support; therefore the contract cannot be revoked.
