A: There will be five Lotto 6/49 Guaranteed $1 Million Prize Draws on March 5 and March 8, 2014 - that's four additional Guaranteed $1 Million Prize Draws for each draw! Players who purchase a Lotto 6/49 play for either the March 5 or March 8, 2104 draws will automatically have a chance to win the jackpot plus any of five Guaranteed $1 Million Prize Draws! The winning selections for all five of the SUPER DRAWS will be drawn only from those issued.
Q2: HOW DO I MAKE SURE I'M ENTERED IN THE LOTTO 6/49 SUPER DRAW?
A: Players who purchase a $3 Lotto 6/49 play for the March 5 or March 8, 2014 draws will automatically have a chance to win the jackpot plus any of five Guaranteed $1 Million Prize Draws! The winning selections for all five of the SUPER DRAWS will be drawn only from those issued for the specified draw day.
Q3: ARE THERE ADDITIONAL GUARANTEED PRIZE DRAW NUMBERS ON THE TICKET?
A: No. Players receive one Guaranteed Prize Draw number for each $3 play. This Guaranteed Prize Draw number gives you a chance to win any of the five Guaranteed $1 Million Prize Draws.
Q4: IS THERE AN EXTRA COST TO PLAY THE LOTTO 6/49 SUPER DRAW?
A: No. The SUPER DRAW offers more chances to win big for the same price. Players who purchase a Lotto 6/49 play for the March 5 or March 8, 2014 draws will automatically have a chance to win the jackpot plus any of the five Guaranteed $1 Million Prize Draws!
Q5: IS THIS THE ONLY TIME LOTTO 6/49 WILL OFFER THIS KIND OF BONUS DRAW WITH ADDITIONAL GUARANTEED $1 MILLION PRIZES?
A: Lotto 6/49 offered the first Super Draw on December 25, 2013. The March SUPER DRAW marks the first time Lotto 6/49 has offered two consecutive draws with additional Guaranteed $1 Million Prize Draws. There may be other times in the future when additional prizes associated with the Guaranteed Prize Draw function may be added to Lotto 6/49 draws.
Q6: WHAT ARE THE ODDS OF WINNING THE ADDITIONAL GUARANTEED $1 MILLION PRIZE DRAWS?
A: The odds of winning any one of the Guaranteed $1 Million Prize Draws is dependant on the total number of selections issued across Canada for that draw date. For example, if 5 million Lotto 6/49 plays are issued for one draw, the odds of winning any one of the Guaranteed Prize Draws is 1 in 5 million.
Q7: CAN YOU GUARANTEE THAT THE ADDITIONAL $1 MILLION PRIZES WILL BE AWARDED?
A: No. A prize can only be awarded after a winning ticket is presented for validation and approved for payment. While the vast majority of lottery prizes are claimed by customers – especially when the prize is $1 million or more – there is always some possibility that a winning ticket might not be presented for payment or that the prize claim is not approved.
Q8: CAN A PLAYER OPT OUT OF THE GUARANTEED $1 MILLION PRIZE DRAW?
A: No – players are automatically issued a Guaranteed Prize Draw Selection with every LOTTO 6/49 play purchased. There is no way to purchase a ticket that does not include a Guaranteed Prize Draw Selection.
Q9: WHY CAN'T I CHOOSE MY OWN GUARANTEED PRIZE DRAW SELECTION?
A: To ensure there is only one winning Guaranteed Prize Draw Selection, every Selection must be unique. If customers were to choose their own Selections, there would always be the possibility that two players could have the same winning Guaranteed Prize Draw Selection, and therefore, have to split the $1 million prize.
Q10: CAN THERE BE TWO TICKETS WITH THE SAME GUARANTEED PRIZE DRAW SELECTION?
A: No, the Guaranteed Prize Draw Selections are unique, and therefore, two tickets can not share the same Selection. The winning Selection for the Guaranteed $1 Million Prize Draw matches only one 10-digit Selection and will only appear on one ticket issued across Canada.
Q11: WHERE DOES THE FUNDING FOR THE SUPER DRAW/ADDITIONAL GUARANTEED PRIZE DRAWS COME FROM?
A: These additional prizes are funded by the 7% of Lotto 6/49 sales dedicated to the Guaranteed Prize Draw fund.
Q12: HOW LONG DO LOTTO 6/49 GUARANTEED $1 MILLION PRIZE DRAW WINNERS HAVE TO CLAIM THE PRIZE?
A: Like all prizes won on Lotto 6/49, a prize won on a Guaranteed $1 Million Prize Draw can be claimed for up to one year from the draw date. After that time, a prize is expired and cannot be claimed.
Q13: WASN'T THERE A SUPER DRAW ON DECEMBER 25, 2013? WHERE WERE THOSE PRIZES WON?
A: Yes, the first Lotto 6/49 SUPER DRAW was offered on December 25, 2013 with a total of five Guaranteed $1 Million Prize Draws. Two of those prizes were won in British Columbia, two were won in Western Canada and one was won in Atlantic Canada.
