Nanaimo's New Lottery Player is the Newest BC49 Winner

$500,000.00

Congratulations Crystal!

Nanaimo’s Crystal G. has only been playing the lottery for a week and a half and is already a big winner after matching all four Extra numbers in BC49’s January 15, 2020, draw to win $500,000!

“I didn’t know there was an app!”

“Some of my co-workers and I decided to go in on a group play a few weeks ago when the Lotto Max jackpot was $70 million,” explained Crystal. “My boss was like ‘Oh no, I don’t think I have time to go to the store to buy our ticket, I better buy it on the Lotto App.’ I didn’t know there was an app!” So, Crystal downloaded the Lotto App and bought an extra BC49 ticket with an Extra for herself that day.

Crystal was at home in the early morning getting ready for work when she found out she won.

“I checked the ticket on the Lotto App and it said $500,000,” she said. “It was so surreal. I woke up my daughter and then I woke up my parents and then I went to work right after. I felt sick all day that day!”

“It was so surreal.”

Crystal said she’ll use the winnings to pay off her car and will continue to work at a Nanaimo credit union, though she’ll be taking a special vacation for her upcoming birthday in March.

“I’ve never been to Mexico before, so that should be a fun birthday!”

In 2019, B.C. lottery players have redeemed more than $36 million playing the Extra. Anyone can win, and #YouCouldBeNext! Watch some amazing lottery winner stories online.
