Surrey Resident Wins $32 Million Lotto 6/49 Gold Ball Jackpot

A routine ticket check turned into a life-changing moment for Surrey resident Amritpal S., who won the $32 million Gold Ball Jackpot from the September 19 Lotto 6/49 draw.

A frequent lottery player, Amritpal often buys tickets when jackpots grow. Like many players, he hoped one day he might score a big win. He just never imagined seeing a number quite this large.

After a busy day, Amritpal opened the BCLC Lotto! app to check his ticket.

"I was confused," said Amritpal. "I kept checking because I couldn't believe what I was seeing."

Even after confirming the win, the reality of becoming a multimillionaire was difficult to process.

The first people he shared the news with were his sister and her husband.

"My sister was speechless," he said. "She started crying."

While a new home, travel plans and a dream car are all on his list for the future, Amritpal said one of the things he is most excited about is giving back to the people who have supported him along the way.

His sister, in particular, has always been there for him.

“She’s taken care of me,” he said, “Now it’s my time”

For now, Amritpal is taking his time before making any major decisions. The Surrey winner is still getting used to the idea that his life changed with a single ticket.

His first celebration will be a simple one: a nice dinner with family.

While the jackpot opens the door to new opportunities, it's the chance to help the people closest to him that makes the win even more meaningful.

Congratulations on your $32 million Lotto 6/49 Gold Ball Jackpot win, Amritpal!
