'Awesome' win for PlayNow Sports player betting on NFL Point Spread!
Andrew A. of Langley, BC, backs the New York Giants, but he’s thinking of purchasing an NFL jersey of another team after a prize payout of $95,894.51 from betting on NFL Point Spread at PlayNow.com.
Andrew wagered $47 on a 12-way parlay of NFL Point Spread picks for Week 15, but needed a furious fourth quarter comeback from Gardner Minshew and the Jaguars against the Oakland Raiders to help turn his bet into a winner. Down 10 points entering the fourth quarter, the rookie quarterback Minshew tossed a pair of touchdown passes to help Jacksonville complete the come-from-behind win and cover the spread after entering the game as 6.5-point underdogs.
“I’m going to buy a Jacksonville Gardner Minshew jersey because he’s the one that saved me to win,” says Andrew. “I’ll never forget it. He’s like a rock star for Jacksonville.”
A Philadelphia Eagles defensive touchdown on a fumble recovery at the end of the fourth quarter against the Washington Redskins also helped cement the win for Andrew. The Eagles entered the game as 6.5-point favourites, but were down three points with less than a minute remaining in the fourth quarter. A pair of quick scores – one on offence and the other on defence in the final 27 seconds of the game – helped Philadelphia win and cover the spread.
“I had left my house because I thought Philly didn’t make the point spread but they ended up getting a touchdown off a fumble recovery with zero seconds left,” says Andrew. “I didn’t know until I got home that everything was working out.”
Andrew, who bets on sports at PlayNow.com as well as with Sports Action Toto, told his two best friends of his big win.
“They didn’t believe me,” says Andrew. “They were like, ‘Are you sure it’s not like $1,000?’”
Andrew now plans to take his friends on a trip down to Portland, where they’ll catch a Trail Blazers’ NBA game. As for the feeling of winning, Andrew admits it hasn’t quite sunk in just yet.
“It’s pretty awesome.”
