On the evening of Friday, June 6, Sam V. was relaxing at home in Winnipeg, sitting on the couch and watching baseball with his wife. With PlayNow open on his phone, he played Slingo DaVinci Diamonds and won $55,080.
Before cashing out his winnings, Sam decided to leave some money in his account and switched over to PlayNow Sports. He placed a $5,511 bet on three underdog teams in that evening’s matchups: Seattle Mariners at Los Angeles Angels, New York Mets at Colorado Rockies, and Baltimore Orioles at Oakland Athletics.
As the scores rolled in, Angels 5-4, Mets 4-2, Athletics 5-4, Sam realized he had swept the board. His bold wager turned into a $122,444.18 win.
“I knew I had won. It felt surreal,” he said with a grin while visiting the PlayNow Winners Lounge. “Just another day at the PlayNow office!”
Sam decided to surprise his wife with the news by bringing her to the lounge. She had no idea what was happening until the big reveal. “I was completely oblivious to what was going on,” she laughed.
As for what’s next, Sam is thinking about buying a new couch to replace the one where he made his picks that Friday night. He’s also hoping to take a trip to celebrate soon.
