Winnipegger Wins $1 Million on LOTTO 6/49

Barbara D. received a very important phone call on the morning of May 18. The Winnipegger was thrilled to hear that the LOTTO 6/49 ticket she had purchased on PlayNow.com had won $1 million on the May 17 draw!

PlayNow players receive a courtesy email letting them know they’ve won – but in this case, due to the size of the prize, the winner received a telephone call advising of her win.

“Well, this is quite a shock!” the winner said during her morning phone call. “I need to call my husband and tell him the news.”

Barbara said this win is even more exciting for her as she and her husband have played LOTTO 6/49 for a long time.

“We’ve played LOTTO 6/49 for the last 27 years,” she laughed. “We’ve played the same numbers for all those years as well.”

But it wasn’t Barbara’s chosen numbers that won her one-million-dollar prize; she won LOTTO 6/49’s Gold Ball Draw, with her selection 38325186-01.

Barbara said she hasn’t made any decisions for her prize money, yet. 

“I think I need to give it time to sink in before I can decide on anything,” she said. “Right now, it feels shocking and wonderful, but I have no ideas for it.”
