$100,000 EXTRA Win on PlayNow

Congratulations Kim!

On March 3, PlayNow player Kim S. was enjoying her usual morning routine. She had no idea she was about to learn she had won $100,000!

PlayNow players receive a courtesy email when they win a lottery prize, and if a large prize is won Western Canada Lottery Corporation (WCLC) will phone the winner to follow up.

Kim has been purchasing lottery tickets online on PlayNow since 2020, and has received a few emails about lottery wins.

“I had seen the email that I won something on PlayNow this time, but I figured it was just $2,” she explained.

“Then when I got that phone call, I was so shocked,” laughed the happy winner while collecting her prize.

Kim purchased a Lotto 6/49 ticket for the March 1, 2025, draw, and added EXTRA to her ticket. She matched the last 6 out of 7 digits on the winning EXTRA number (1758649) to win the $100,000 second prize.

The March 1 Lotto 6/49 draw was a Super Draw, and players had a chance to win 25 additional $10,000 cash prizes on top of the game’s Classic and Gold Ball jackpots. However, the Lac du Bonnet resident did not actually decide to play because of the Super Draw that day.

“I decided to play because it was our anniversary. It was our 33rd, and I love the number three!”

She and her family are spending time considering what to do with their windfall. They are especially excited because the win means they can start a planned bathroom renovation much sooner than expected.

“We don’t have to wait to save up now – we can just start right away!”

“This amount isn’t necessarily life-changing, but it is impactful for sure. We are so grateful.”
